Extended Description
QJY-SOFA is a modular seating system designed for speculative future households, where emotional interaction becomes a spatial and physical condition rather than a purely verbal exchange. The sofa is composed of multiple seating units embedded with soft responsive structures capable of subtle inflation and vibration. These internal components register interaction dynamics during daily family use and translate them into gentle physical variations across the seating surface. When conversational tension rises, the backrest gradually expands, acting as a quiet spatial indicator of emotional pressure within the environment. In moments of emotional withdrawal or discomfort, the armrest and lateral zones provide a soft enclosing support, creating a sensation similar to being lightly held or stabilized. The semi-back-facing seating arrangement reduces direct visual confrontation, allowing communication to occur in a less intense perceptual field. This supports a calmer form of co-presence where emotional states are shared indirectly through spatial behavior. Rather than intervening in emotional processes, QJY-SOFA translates them into a continuously shifting domestic environment, where emotional conditions become part of everyday spatial experience.
